KRYSTAL LOUNGE BLAST WAS A FAULTY TRANSFORMER!.... NOT BOMB

A faulty transformer exploded yesterday at about 11pm on Aminu Kano Cresenct Wuse II, Abuja was mistaken for a bomb.

According to an eye witness, the loud sound which was mistaken for a bomb blast was actually a faulty transformer located close to the club.

''When we heard the loud noise, everyone in and outside the club scrambled for safety as we now live in fear coupled with the fact that a rumour has been circulated earlier about a bomb in Zone 5,” the eye witness said.

"Though there were no casualties, but everyone within and around the club deserted the area at once and up till now I have not left my house which is located close to the club,” she added. She did add however that a few cars were damaged.
“Meanwhile the earlier scare at Zone 5 turned out to be a bag of clothes which had been abandoned by the owners. The police bomb squad had been called to the scene to defuse the expected bomb when that discovery was made.
“Calls put through to security operatives to comment on the matter were not answered as Power Holding Company of Nigeria officials who refused to be named said they have mobilized their area maintenance team to the scene of incident
